Acouple nights ago I tried to hop in the game and it seems like my g29 is not detected when I start up a race, yet it does detect the input on the "controllers" settings tab. and I even reinstalled Assetto Corsa on Steam, yet the same thing is happening. Even when I try to calibrate the controller in the main game, it detects the wheel but

AssettoCorsa Competizione IS playable with a gamepad/controller. You may still lose 90% of the simulation experience and 100% of the fun driving with anything other than a wheel. Pro sim racers go to extreme lengths to ensure they have the best sim racing setups to perform at the highest level. However, racing wheels are not cheap
AssettoCorsa reproduces this "self-steer" with a steering wheel controller with force feedback. Easily the best gamepad script I've used for assetto. ~for those saying it doesn't work for csp 1.8 it does just make sure you take one of the 2 sub folders and put that into your gamepad fx folder not the master folder Makes Assetto Corsa

Thisis obviously a bit of a problem. Yes, you can alt tab, kill the game, start the game without vr, go to the settings, change resolution to 1080, close the game, open the game again in vr. This will indeed give you full mouse control. It's also a pain in the arse and the graphics are pap. And it's bloomin 2021!
