Because it wasn’t 90210. It had no similarities except having Kelly and Silver and that the main family moved from Kansas. They moved into the grandmothers home then by season one she’s no longer on the show. By season two or 3 Annie and Dixon’s parents leave the show.
On the original show, Dylan and Kelly do get back together but it's not very convincing nor memorable. I think Jennie Garth actually forgot they ended up together. I believe Dylan and Nat both owned the Peach Pit After Dark and the Peach Pit. ah oh you meant the 2008 revival series. Well I don't really consider that series canon.
